Privacy policy
Declaration on the obligation to provide information
The protection of your personal data is of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we process your data exclusively in accordance with legal regulations (GDPR, Telecommunications Act 2003). In this privacy policy, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing on our website.
Server log files
You can visit our website without providing any personal information. We only store access data in so-called server log files, such as the name of the requested file, the date and time of access, the amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider. This data is evaluated solely to ensure the smooth operation of the site and to improve our offerings; it does not allow us to draw any conclusions about you personally.
Collection and processing when using the contact form
When you use the contact form, we collect your personal data (title, first name, last name, email address, telephone number, message text) only to the extent you provide it. The data processing serves the purpose of establishing contact. By sending your message, you consent to the processing of the transmitted data. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR with your consent.
You can revoke your consent at any time by notifying us, without affecting the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation. We will only use your email address to process your request. Your data will then be deleted unless you have consented to further processing and use.
Customer account
When you open a customer account, we collect your personal data to the extent specified therein. The data processing serves the purpose of improving your shopping experience and simplifying order processing. Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR with your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time by notifying us, without affecting the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent until the revocation. Your customer account will then be deleted.
Data usage when registering for the email newsletter
We send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications with advertising information (hereinafter "newsletter") only with the consent of the recipient or with legal permission.
- Double opt-in and logging. Registration for our newsletters is carried out using a so-called double opt-in process. This means that after registration, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary to ensure that no one can register using someone else's email address. Newsletter registrations are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes saving the time of registration and confirmation, as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored by MailChimp are also logged.
- Use of the shipping service provider “MailChimp”: The newsletter is sent via “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on MailChimp’s servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, MailChimp can use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter or for commercial purposes to determine which countries the recipients come from. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them directly or to pass it on to third parties. We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU Data Protection Agreement Standard Contractual Clauses (also known as "SCC") and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations. Data transfer is therefore based on the so-called standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Furthermore, we have a “Data Processing Agreement” This is a contract in which MailChimp undertakes to protect our users' data, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its privacy policy, and, in particular, not to share it with third parties. You can view MailChimp's privacy policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
- Statistical collection and analysis: The newsletters contain a so-called "web beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. During this retrieval, technical information such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, are initially collected. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval location (which can be determined using the IP address) or the access times. Statistical collection also includes determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our aim nor that of MailChimp to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
- There are cases in which we direct newsletter recipients to the MailChimp website. For example, our newsletters contain a link that newsletter recipients can use to access the newsletter online (e.g. in the event of display problems in their email program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can subsequently correct their data, such as their email address. Likewise, MailChimp's privacy policy is only available on their website. In this context, we would like to point out that cookies are used on MailChimp's websites and that personal data is therefore processed by MailChimp, its partners and the service providers it uses (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in MailChimp's privacy policy. We would also like to draw your attention to the options for objecting to data collection for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for Europe).
- Cancellation/Revocation: You can cancel your subscription to our newsletter at any time, i.e., revoke your consent. This will also revoke your consent to receive the newsletter via MailChimp and to the statistical analyses. Unfortunately, a separate revocation of the newsletter subscription via MailChimp or the statistical analyses is not possible. A link to unsubscribe from the newsletter can be found at the end of each newsletter.
Data transfer for contract fulfillment
To fulfill the contract, we will pass on your data to the shipping company commissioned with the delivery, insofar as this is necessary for the delivery of ordered goods. Depending on the payment service provider you select during the ordering process, we will pass on the payment data collected for this purpose to the credit institution commissioned with the payment and, if applicable, to the payment service provider commissioned by us or to the selected payment service provider for the purpose of processing payments. In some cases, the selected payment service providers also collect this data themselves if you create an account with them. In this case, you must log in to the payment service provider using your access data during the ordering process. The privacy policy of the respective payment service provider applies in this respect.

Use of Google (Universal) Analytics for web analysis
This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (www.google.de). Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods that enable an analysis of your use of the website, such as so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer. The information generated about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. By activating IP anonymization on this website, the IP address is shortened before transmission within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The anonymized IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
As an alternative to the browser plug-in, you can click this link to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on this website in the future. This will store an opt-out cookie on your device. If you delete your cookies, you will need to click the link again.
The relationship with the web analytics provider is based on the applicable clauses of US law ("standard contractual clauses," or "SCCs" for short). Data transfer is based on the so-called standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.
Data processing is based on the legal provisions of Section 96 (3) of the Telecommunications Act (TKG) and Article 6 (1) (a) (consent) and/or (f) (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. The corresponding privacy policy of Google Inc. can be found here: https://www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html?hl=de .
Use of Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
We use the online advertising program "Google AdWords" on our website and, as part of this, conversion tracking (visit action evaluation). Google Conversion Tracking is an analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). When you click on an ad placed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is stored on your computer. These cookies have a limited lifespan, contain no personal data, and are therefore not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked across AdWords customers' websites.
The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to compile conversion statistics. This tells us the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in targeted advertising and analyzing the impact and effectiveness of this advertising.
You have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you based on Art. 6 (1) f GDPR for reasons arising from your particular situation.
You can prevent cookies from being saved by selecting the appropriate technical settings in your browser software. However, we would like to point out that if you do this, you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website to their full extent. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. Furthermore, you can deactivate personalized advertising in the Google advertising settings. You can find instructions on how to do this at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de . You can also deactivate the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative deactivation page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and implementing the further information on opting out provided there.
Further information and Google's privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/
Google Web Fonts
This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for consistent font display. When you visit a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display text and fonts correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you use must establish a connection to Google's servers. This allows Google to know that our website was accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used in the interest of a consistent and appealing presentation of our online offerings. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.
Further information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/ .
Use of the Facebook Custom Audiences Pixel
In order to present interest-based advertisements to visitors to our website during their visit to Facebook, we use Custom Audiences Pixel from Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). For this purpose, we have implemented a Facebook pixel on our website, which establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers when you visit our website. The fact that you have visited our website is transmitted to the Facebook server, and Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook user account.
The personal data collected by the pixel are:
- Pages you have viewed
- Items in shopping cart
- Visited article pages
- Order confirmation
- Using a Facebook ad
- Use of the homepage
- Newsletter registration
The data collected in this way is anonymous to us, which means that we cannot see the personal data of individual users, nor can we combine it with other information about a user.
However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook. Facebook can therefore track the behavior of users who have clicked on an advertisement in the Facebook members' area and were redirected to our website. By using cookies, i.e. text files stored on your computer, Facebook can subsequently recognize this user in the Facebook members' area and optimize the effectiveness of advertisements, e.g. offer advertisements tailored to specific target groups, in accordance with Facebook's data usage policy. This only applies to users who have a Facebook account and are logged in to the Facebook members' area. Users who are not Facebook members are not affected by this data processing.
For more information about the collection and use of data by Facebook, as well as your rights and options for protecting your privacy, please see Facebook’s privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/ .
Use of YouTube plugins (embedded videos)
Our website contains embedded videos from the video portal YouTube, a company of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). When you play a video, a connection is established to the Google or YouTube servers. This transmits to these servers which of our websites you have visited. If you are logged in as a YouTube member, YouTube assigns this information to your personal user account. The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google or YouTube, as well as your rights and setting options for protecting your privacy, can be found in Google's privacy policy: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/ If you do not want Google or YouTube to directly assign the data collected via our website to your profile on another Google service, you can completely prevent the Google plug-in from loading using add-ons for your browser, e.g. with the script blocker "NoScript" ( http://noscript.net/ ).
Use of Matomo Analytics for web analysis
This website uses Elements Analytics for web analysis and targeting technologies, a service based on the open source product Matomo from elements.at New Media Solutions GmbH ("Elements"). This service uses so-called "cookies", i.e. small text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information collected by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to an Elements server (location in the EU) and stored there permanently for further processing. By applying the privacy-by-default concept, the IP address is shortened before processing and thus made unrecognizable, so that direct personal reference is excluded for Elements. On behalf of the operator of this website, Elements will use the collected information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services related to website activity and internet usage (e.g. personalization of content). Elements may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on Elements' behalf. You can prevent cookies from being saved by setting your browser accordingly; however, if you do this, you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Elements from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Elements by clicking on the following link https://elements.services/matomo/index.php?module=CoreAdminHome&action=optOut&language=de and objecting to use there ("opt-out").
An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website (cookies must be supported and accepted by your browser). Please note that this setting must be renewed if you delete the corresponding cookie.
By using this website, you consent to the processing of data collected about you by Elements in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
Use of Hotjar
This website uses Hotjar from Hotjar Limited (Level 2, St Julian's Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julian's STJ 1000, Malta) and evaluates statistical visitor data.
Hotjar provides us with reports and visual representations that show us where you move on our site. Personal data is automatically anonymized and is not transmitted to Hotjar. The anonymized data is processed by Hotjar in heatmaps, conversion funnels, visitor recording, incoming feedback, feedback polls, and surveys (more information about this can be found at https://www.hotjar.com/).
Why is Hotjar used?
To ensure the best possible shopping experience for you as a user, we strive to continually optimize our online shop. Thanks to Hotjar, we can investigate where there are still issues with usability and make improvements.
More details about the privacy policy and what data is collected and how by Hotjar can be found on https://www.hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy?tid=231576673717 .
Additional information on the website login area
By using the login area on our website, you agree that your unique user identification (ID) on our website will be transferred to Elements. This ID does not, in itself, contain any personal information and is only meaningful in connection with the data stored about you on this website (user profile). The data collected by Elements will be merged, in whole or in part, with your profile. No direct personal reference can be established on Elements' servers using this ID, and no personal data is transferred to Elements' servers.
Integration of the Trusted Shops Trustbadge
The Trusted Shops Trustbadge is integrated into this website to display our Trusted Shops seal of approval and any reviews collected, as well as to offer Trusted Shops products to buyers after an order.
This serves to safeguard our legitimate interests, which prevail within the context of a balancing of interests, in the optimal marketing of our offering in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The Trustbadge and the services advertised with it are offered by Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15C, 50823 Cologne.
When you access the Trustbadge, the web server automatically saves a so-called server log file, which contains, for example, your IP address, the date and time of access, the amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider (access data), and documents the access. This access data is not evaluated and is automatically overwritten at the latest seven days after your visit to the site.
Further personal data will only be transferred to Trusted Shops if you have consented to this, if you decide to use Trusted Shops products after completing an order, or if you have already registered for use. In this case, the contractual agreement between you and Trusted Shops applies.
Duration of storage
Once you cancel your purchase, the data stored by us will be deleted. If a contract is concluded, all data from the contractual relationship will be stored until the expiration of the retention period required by tax law (7 years).
The data (name, address, purchased goods, and purchase date) will be stored until the expiration of the product liability period (10 years). Data processing is based on the legal provisions of Section 96 (3) of the Telecommunications Act (TKG) and Article 6 (1) (a) (consent) and/or (b) (necessary for contract fulfillment) of the GDPR.
Rights of the data subject
If the legal requirements are met, you are entitled to the following rights under Articles 15 to 20 GDPR: Right to information, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability.
Furthermore, according to Art. 21 (1) GDPR, you have the right to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) f GDPR and to processing for the purposes of direct marketing.
Please contact us if you wish. You can find our contact details in our legal notice.
Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority
Pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data is unlawful. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority.
